Asante Kotoko Communications Director Sarfo Duku Esq. has openly criticized former management member Dr Kwame Baah Nuako over comments he made regarding the club’s current struggles, describing the remarks as disappointing and harmful to the club’s image.
Dr Baah Nuako, speaking on Accra-based Sporty FM, argued that Kotoko’s recent difficulties are rooted not in coaching issues but in what he described as poor management by the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC). His statement quickly stirred debate among supporters and pundits.
Responding to the claims, Sarfo Duku did not hold back, labeling the former official’s comments as hypocritical and counterproductive, especially coming from someone he believes should be defending the club’s reputation rather than criticizing it publicly.
“With the comments he has made, I see it as a show of hypocrisy. Instead of protecting the image of the club as a die-hard member of the Kotoko family, he seeks to disgrace it. I am highly disappointed in him,” Duku said.
He further suggested that comparisons between past and present management eras are unfair, noting that during Dr Baah Nuako’s time with the club, the media landscape was far less intense, with limited outlets and no social media scrutiny — a stark contrast to the constant public attention and pressure modern administrators face.
The exchange comes at a sensitive moment for the Porcupine Warriors, who are attempting to steady their season following recent setbacks both in the league and cup competitions. Attention now shifts to the pitch as Kotoko prepare to host arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in their Matchday 22 Super Clash, a fixture expected to draw massive interest nationwide.
