FC Magdeburg believe their latest addition could prove decisive as the season enters a crucial phase.

The club’s sporting director, Otmar Schork, has spoken glowingly about the arrival of German-Ghanaian forward Richmond Tachie.

According to Schork, the 26-year-old brings a rare mix of flexibility and know-how that suits Magdeburg’s attacking plans.

The striker is expected to slot in quickly, having already tested himself extensively in Germany’s second tier.

“Richmond is a player with experience in the second division who can be deployed in various attacking positions. We are convinced of his quality and believe he can help us in the second half of the season without a long adjustment period,” Schork said.

Tachie makes the move from FC Kaiserslautern as a right-footed attacker capable of operating across the front line.

His development pathway included early years at Tennis Borussia Berlin and further refinement within VfL Wolfsburg’s academy system.

Beyond that, he has featured for Viktoria Köln, Borussia Dortmund II, SC Paderborn and Eintracht Braunschweig.

A standout chapter of his career came in 2021 when he helped Dortmund II earn promotion to the 3. Liga.

Magdeburg see his arrival as a timely reinforcement, adding fresh attacking options and internal competition as league ambitions intensify.
