Matthew Amoah, NAC Breda’s strikers coach, was surprised by Andre Ayew’s arrival, revealing the club had concerns about the veteran’s fitness after seeing videos of him training with his dad and former Ghanaian players.
“I was surprised when Andre joined NAC Breda. They asked me whether he is fit because they saw videos of him training with his dad and former Ghanaian players,” Amoah told NAC Breda media.
Ayew, 36, joined NAC Breda on a free transfer until the end of the season, with an option to extend.
The club is battling relegation in the Eredivisie, currently sitting at the bottom of the table with 14 points from 19 games.
Ayew expressed his eagerness to help the team survive, citing the mental aspect as crucial in their fight.
