Twenty-three Ghanaian referees, including  Daniel Laryea, have received FIFA badges for 2026, authorizing them to officiate international matches.

Laryea, a seasoned centre referee and VAR, leads the list, while new assistant referee Richard Kwaku and Beach Soccer referee Portia Oppong also make the cut.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) presented the badges at a ceremony, urging officials to maintain high standards.

The approved list comprises 10 Centre Referees, 10 Assistant Referees, one Futsal Referee, one Beach Soccer Referee, and one Video Assistant Referee (VAR).

FIFA badges are awarded annually to top-ranked referees, following rigorous evaluation and fitness tests.

GFA Vice-President Mark Addo charged the referees to uphold impartiality, fairness, and top-class performance, saying, “Aspire for greatness and aim to become world-class referees.”
