FC Nordsjaelland attacker Prince Amoako Jr has made it clear that breaking into Ghana’s Black Stars setup remains a major personal ambition.

The forward has enjoyed a strong campaign in Denmark, playing a key role as Nordsjaelland push for a playoff place this season.

His motivation has been further fuelled by seeing teammate Caleb Yirenkyi earn opportunities with the senior national team.

“We’ve had conversations about the national team but it’s never been about what’s on the inside,” Amoako Jr told Joy Sports.

He explained that, from his perspective, representing Ghana carries special meaning beyond football alone.

“On the outside from what I see, the national team is always good to play. You’re representing your country and representing the very place that made you.”

The forward believes a national team invitation would significantly lift his confidence and overall performance.

“For me, it’s always a big deal to play in the national team and to be called up for it. It would mean the world to be and it would just elevate my confidence and everything else will just align,” he added. “But right now, to play in the national team is a very big dream for me.”

Amoako Jr has recorded an impressive 11 goal contributions in 21 appearances across all competitions for Nordsjaelland, scoring six times and providing five assists.
