Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has held talks with Jordan Ayew, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Brandon Thomas-Asante ahead of this weekend’s highly anticipated M69 derby between Coventry City and Leicester City.
The meeting formed part of the technical team’s wider engagement drive with national team players abroad, aimed at reinforcing the FA’s long-term vision.
Addo’s visit came at a timely moment, with all three players heavily involved in the build-up to the clash at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Thomas-Asante, who has been in fine scoring form this season, remains a doubt for the game due to a minor hamstring concern.
In contrast, Ayew and Fatawu are pushing strongly for starting roles after delivering consistent performances in recent weeks.
Fatawu has contributed 12 goal involvements in the league so far, underlining his growing influence. Ayew has also played a key role, combining goals and assists across 24 appearances.
The M69 derby, named after the motorway linking the two cities, has grown into one of England’s notable rivalries over the past two decades.
