Real Mallorca Eye Move for Ghanaian Midfielder Lawrence Ofori

Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Ofori could be set for a move to Spain, with La Liga side Real Mallorca reportedly showing strong interest in signing him from Portuguese club Moreirense.

According to reports in Portugal, Mallorca are preparing an initial bid of around €1.5 million for the 27-year-old. However, that valuation is believed to fall short of Moreirense’s expectations, with the club reportedly holding out for a fee in the region of €2–2.5 million.

The negotiations are further complicated by Ofori’s ownership structure, as Moreirense possess only 50 percent of the player’s economic rights, with the remaining stake held by fellow Portuguese side Famalicão.

Portuguese outlet A Bola reports that talks between the clubs could intensify in the coming days, as Moreirense are open to offloading the Ghanaian midfielder during the January transfer window.

Ofori has not featured in competitive action since late August after suffering a muscle injury early in the season. The setback came at an unfortunate time, as he had begun the campaign as a regular under head coach Vasco Botelho da Costa.

Although he has since returned to full fitness, Ofori has struggled to reclaim his starting place, fueling speculation over a potential move away from the club.

With his contract set to expire on June 30, 2026, Moreirense may be keen to cash in now rather than risk losing the midfielder for free in the future.
