Antoine Semenyo has become the 4th most expensive player in Manchester City’s history, with only the likes of Jack Grealish (£100m), Joško Gvardiol (£76.5m) , and Kevin De Bruyne (£65m) purchased for more than the Ghanaian.
The Ghanaian forward signed a £64 million deal with City, beating competition from top clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham.
Semenyo’s impressive form with Bournemouth, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists in 20 Premier League games, caught Pep Guardiola’s eye.
“He has huge quality. Two great feet, pace, power, a habit of influencing games and, importantly, real room for growth and development,” said City’s director of football, Hugo Viana.
The 26-year-old winger will don the number 42 shirt, previously worn by Yaya Toure, and has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract until 2031.
Semenyo expressed his excitement, saying, “I am so proud to have joined Manchester City. My best football is yet to come”
