Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo has looked back on 2025 as a defining chapter in his football journey, following major milestones at both club and international level.

The 27-year-old enjoyed a remarkable rise with Spanish side Real Oviedo, playing a key role in their promotion to La Liga after a 24-year wait.

His performances in Spain did not go unnoticed, earning him a first-ever call-up to the Ghana national team under head coach Otto Addo.

Sibo went on to make his Black Stars debut in September during a crucial World Cup qualifier against Mali. He delivered a mature display as Ghana edged a 1-0 win and later topped Group I to book a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

”This year has been one of the best years of my career. Helping my club reach elite football after 24 years and making my debut for the national team are moments I will never forget,” Sibo stated.

“The love and support you gave me during the World Cup qualifying games was amazing.”

With the World Cup on the horizon, the midfielder remains optimistic about Ghana’s prospects on the global stage.

“We are preparing very hard and believe we can put Ghana on the global map next year,” he added.
