Morocco’s coach Walid Regragui has confirmed that star player Achraf Hakimi is fully fit and could feature in their final group game against Zambia at the Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.
Hakimi, crowned Africa’s best player last month, had been doubtful for the tournament due to an ankle injury but has been working hard to recover.
Regragui praised Paris Saint-Germain for allowing Hakimi to join the national team early, saying, “I want to thank Paris St Germain. If Hakimi is back with us today, it’s thanks to them.”
Hakimi’s return is a significant boost for Morocco, who need a win against Zambia to top Group A.
Regragui added that Hakimi will likely play at least some part in the game, saying, “We have a good chance of seeing Achraf Hakimi either start or come on as a substitute”
