Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko praised his players’ discipline and game management after a narrow 1-0 victory over Heart of Lions sent the Mauve and Yellow back to the top of the Ghana Premier League.
The Tarkwa-based side grabbed the decisive goal in the 20th minute when Kingsley Braye reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box to head home from close range.
Medeama controlled large spells of the contest, particularly before the break, keeping possession and limiting Lions’ attacking threats at the Kpando Sports Stadium.
Speaking after the match, Tanko highlighted the importance of sticking to their plan throughout the encounter.
“We talked to our boys that we had to keep the ball in our midst and I think at the end we did that,” he said.
“Even though we won, we still have more matches to play and we are taking it game by game,” Tanko added.
“We hope that our next game will be better,” he concluded.
The win restores Medeama’s momentum as they continue their push to stay ahead of close challengers Aduana FC in the title race.
