Fortuna Düsseldorf II have strengthened their defensive unit with the addition of German-born Ghanaian defender Kaden Amaniampong ahead of the ongoing Regionalliga campaign.

The 21-year-old right-back joins the Flingeraner from VfB Stuttgart II and will initially feature for the club’s U23 side.

His arrival is part of Fortuna’s plan to add depth and versatility to their backline as the season progresses.

A club statement announcing the deal highlighted his development path and recent appearances in competitive football.

“Fortuna Düsseldorf has signed Kaden Amaniampong for their U23 team. The 21-year-old joins the Flingeraner from VfB Stuttgart II and will strengthen the Red and Whites’ Regionalliga squad.”

Youth team sporting director Stefan Vollmerhausen expressed confidence in the signing, pointing to Amaniampong’s adaptability and maturity.

“We are delighted that we were able to convince Kaden to join Fortuna… His abilities perfectly match our desired profile, and he will strengthen our team immediately.”

Born to former Ghana international Nana Amaniampong, the defender remains eligible to represent Ghana at senior level in the future.
