Ghana goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi was the backbone of St Gallen’s 3-1 comeback victory over Sion in the Swiss Super League, producing a commanding display at Kybunpark.

After conceding early to Ylyas Chouaref, St Gallen hit back with goals from Aliou Baldé, Lukas Görtler, and late substitute Diego Besio. Yet it was Ati Zigi’s composure between the posts that ensured his side remained in control throughout.

The 29-year-old made four key saves, including two inside the box, won both aerial duels he contested, and completed 84% of his passes, helping St Gallen build confidently from the back. His decisive interventions under pressure blunted Sion’s late surge, who pulled one back in stoppage time.

Ati Zigi faced five shots on target, conceded only once, and earned a strong performance rating of 7, highlighting his reliability behind a sometimes-exposed defence.

The win keeps St Gallen near the top of the table and sets up a crucial clash against Grasshoppers, where Ati Zigi is expected to again play a pivotal role in the club’s push for a strong finish this season.
