“No clear progress” — King Zuba calls for foreign coach at Asante Kotoko to replace Karim Zito

Kumasi Mayor, Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, popularly known as King Zuba, says he has not seen any meaningful improvement at the club since Karim Zito took over as head coach.

Speaking on Akoma 87.9 FM, the outspoken former footballer questioned the direction of the Porcupine Warriors, insisting the club needs a complete reset to regain its dominance.

“I have not seen any significant improvement in Asante Kotoko since Karim Zito took over,” King Zuba said. “For me, the club needs a fresh direction, and that should come from an experienced expatriate coach.”

The Kumasi Mayor believes Kotoko’s current struggles require a manager with international exposure and proven pedigree, capable of instilling a clear identity and long-term structure at the club.

His comments add to the growing debate among supporters and pundits over Kotoko’s technical direction, as pressure continues to mount on the club to rediscover consistency and competitiveness both locally and on the continental stage.
