Ghana’s Black Queens have climbed five places in the newest FIFA women’s rankings, continuing their impressive rise after months of solid performances.
The team, previously positioned 67th, now occupy 62nd place globally and sit third on the African continent, behind Nigeria and South Africa.
Their upward move follows a dominant 7–0 aggregate win over Egypt to book a ticket to the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, with their only recent setback coming in a friendly defeat to fourth-ranked England earlier in December.
With qualification secured, the Queens now turn their attention to preparations for the 2026 WAFCON, scheduled for 17 March to 3 April in Morocco.
The technical team is also expected to intensify scouting efforts as they look to strengthen the squad ahead of the tournament. Confidence remains high in camp as the Queens aim to make a deep run in next year’s competition.
