Dutch Ghanaian Don-Angelo Konadu, made an impressive UEFA Champions League debut on Wednesday night, providing a key assist in Ajax’s thrilling 4-2 victory over Qarabag.

The 19-year-old started on the bench and was introduced in the 65th minute, replacing striker Kasper Dolberg, before making an immediate impact on the game.

Qarabag took an early lead in the 10th minute through Camilo Duran, who expertly lifted the ball over the goalkeeper after collecting a pass at the edge of the box.

Ajax responded just before halftime when Dolberg fired a powerful effort inside the left post to restore parity in the 39th minute. Soon after the break, Matheus Silva struck to put Qarabag back in front with a deflected shot that wrong-footed goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros.

Ajax increased the pressure and drew level again in the 79th minute, with Oscar Gloukh converting a low effort into the bottom corner after being teed up by Lucas Rosa.

Konadu’s moment came in the 83rd minute when his calm build-up play carved the opportunity for Anton Gaaei to curl a brilliant strike into the top corner, giving Ajax a crucial 3-2 lead.

Oscar Gloukh sealed the victory in stoppage time with his second of the night, completing a dramatic 4-2 win for the Dutch giants.
