Hull City midfielder Darko Gyabi says he has not ruled out playing for Ghana at senior level, admitting the Black Stars remain a genuine option as he weighs his international future.
The 21-year-old, born in England to Ghanaian parents, has represented England at various youth levels and featured at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
However, his absence from the England U-21 squad since late 2024 has left room for speculation over his next national team step.
Speaking to RG, Gyabi said his immediate focus is on helping Hull City in the Championship, but added that his heritage keeps the Ghana door firmly open.
“Ghana can definitely be an option in the future — it’s just a matter of timing,” he said, noting that his roots remain central to his identity.
“I love going back to Ghana. My entire family is from Ghana.”
Gyabi’s remarks come at a time when Ghana prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Black Stars will face Panama, England and Croatia in Group L.
His continued rise in the Championship could bring him into consideration as the tournament approaches.
