Sarfo Oduro refuses to blame Dramani for Hearts’ FA Cup exit

GFA Executive Council member Nana Sarfo Oduro says he will not join calls criticizing Hearts of Oak head coach Didi Dramani after the club’s shock elimination from the MTN FA Cup.

Hearts suffered a 1–0 defeat to Division Two side True Life FC in the Round of 64 on Wednesday at the Kpobiman Sports Complex, conceding in the 78th minute despite coming into the game on the back of a win over Vision FC.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Sarfo Oduro defended Dramani and noted the coach’s deep familiarity with the opponents.

“I wouldn’t join people to blame Didi Dramani for Hearts of Oak’s MTN FA Cup exit, but he knows True Life in and out. Without looking at the team sheet, he can give you the lineup of True Life,” he said.

Dramani made several changes to his starting XI, giving minutes to fringe players, but the rotation plan did not pay off as Hearts struggled to break down the disciplined lower-tier side.

The loss marks the second time in three years that Hearts have been knocked out of the FA Cup by lower-division opposition at the same venue.
