Sulley Adamu resigns as Great Olympics head coach after poor start

Great Olympics head coach Sulley Adamu has stepped down from his role following a difficult run of results in the Access Bank Division One League.

Adamu leaves the club after failing to spark a turnaround, with Olympics picking up just 7 points from 8 matches—a start that has left fans frustrated and the team hovering one point above the relegation zone in Zone III.

His resignation came shortly after Sunday’s 1-1 draw with True Democracy, a result that further stalled the club’s push for promotion.

Brought in with the mandate to return Olympics to the Ghana Premier League, the former Okwahu United and Heart of Lions coach could not steady the ship, with the team now sitting 10 points behind the promotion places.

With 22 matches left, Olympics still have time to recover, but the incoming coach faces a tough task—reviving confidence, fixing consistency issues, and reigniting the club’s promotion charge.
