The Ghana Football Association says the Black Stars gained exactly what they needed from their recent trip to Asia, even though both matches ended in defeat.
Ghana’s first outing saw them fall 2-0 to Japan in the Kirin Cup last Friday.
Their second game, played at the Seoul World Cup Stadium, finished with a narrow 1-0 loss to South Korea.
Despite the results, GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum insists the technical team achieved the key objectives set for the window.
“We had to deal with injuries, and we lost against Japan and South Korea, but the purpose for which these friendlies were played has been achieved,” he told Asempa FM.
He explained that the fixtures offered valuable lessons and allowed the coaches to assess the squad ahead of next year’s World Cup.
The national team is expected to regroup in March as preparations continue. Ghana will discover their group opponents when the World Cup draw takes place on December 5.
The GFA maintains that these tests will help build a stronger team for the tournament.
