Eddie Nketiah plays down Ghana switch talk as he focuses on Crystal Palace form

Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah has addressed growing speculation linking him with a potential move to represent Ghana at international level.

The forward, who came through England’s youth teams and has one senior appearance, has recently been the subject of debate following Ghana’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

His eligibility through his Ghanaian parents has reignited discussions among fans pushing for more diaspora players to join the Black Stars.

Nketiah, however, insists he is not letting the conversation distract him from his club duties.

“At the moment, I’m just enjoying my football with Crystal Palace – that’s been my main focus.”

“I’m Ghanaian and there’s no denying that. Obviously I’m proud of my roots and where I’ve come from.”

“I’m sure the future will take care of itself and what will be will be.”

The debate around dual-nationals has intensified, especially after the Black Stars secured their World Cup ticket.

Under FIFA’s updated nationality switch regulations, Nketiah remains eligible to change allegiance despite his lone England cap.
