Hudson-Odoi, Nketiah, Lamptey Ghana switch not complete –

The much-talked about nationality switch of trio – Callum Hudson-Odoi, Eddie Nketiah and Tariq Lamptey is not complete, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

Circling media reports have claimed that the British-born trio have completed their international switch to the powerful African nation.

But GHANAsoccernet.com understands that the process is far from complete as the Ghana FA continues to explore the best available options to make the switch complete.

Lamptey, 21, who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League has represented England at the U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 levels.

The Ghana Football Association have held fruitful discussions with wing-back ahead of his nationality switch from England to play for Ghana but is yet to be formalised.

Lamptey was born in London but has Ghanaian roots. He recently turned down an invite to England’s U-21 team following his decision to represent Ghana.

The Brighton star is currently in the country, having touched down last week following the conclusion of the 2021/22 Premier League season.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has confirmed his desire to represent Ghana at the international level after being ignored by England’s Three Lions.

Ghana FA authorities are far advanced in their move to capture the youngster from England as talks have been held already with the family of the player over the switch.

Despite being the record England U21 goalscorer, Nketiah has been ignored for call-ups into the England senior team.

As he is yet to be capped at senior level for the Three Lions, he is qualified to make the switch and play for Ghana through his family.

Chelsea’s Hudson-Odoi visited Ghana last year and held meetings with Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo and GFA boss Kurt Okraku.

The English-born trio have all played for England at youth level but haven’t been afforded many opportunities with the Three Lions.
