Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has addressed the controversy surrounding his absence following the tragic death of Asante Kotoko fan Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.

The Football Association Capo’s silence had sparked widespread criticism and speculation, but he has now revealed that his absence was due to official GFA duties and personal medical reasons.

Kurt made this clarification during his first meeting with Asante Kotoko officials since the incident.

“When the Nsoatre incident happened, I was out of the country, not for a CAF slot campaign but to work for the FA and seek medical attention,” he explained.

“However, every action taken by the FA was under my directive, and we responded swiftly to the situation.”

The Ghana Premier League is currently on hold due to the hooliganism that led to the death of the devoted fan.
