Ghanaian-born midfielder Baba Alhassan has joined the Ugandan national team for training following his recent nationality switch.
The 25-year-old Steaua București player was called up to the Cranes for the upcoming international friendlies against Chad on November 14 and Morocco on November 18. Eligible to play for Ghana, Alhassan opted to represent Uganda through his mother’s heritage.
He trained with his new teammates at Lonari Sports Club on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, and could make his debut against Chad. Alhassan will also be part of Uganda’s preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations next month, where the Cranes are in Group C alongside Tunisia, Tanzania, and Nigeria.
Alhassan has started the season strongly in Europe, featuring in 10 league matches and registering one assist in Romania.
