Patrick Agyemang’s first-half header proved decisive as Derby County secured a 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the Championship.
The American-Ghanaian striker powered home Joe Ward’s cross just before halftime, doubling Derby’s lead after Carlton Morris had opened the scoring with a header from Callum Elder’s corner in the 19th minute.
Agyemang’s goal his latest in an impressive run embodied hunger and precision, earning cheers from the travelling Derby fans before he was substituted in the 71st minute after a tireless display.
Despite Yuki Ohashi pulling one back for Blackburn in the 66th minute, Derby’s disciplined defence held firm to seal an important away victory.
