Black Stars midfielder Kwasi Sibo has expressed confidence in Ghana’s steady progress under head coach Otto Addo following the team’s qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The midfielder’s remarks come after Ghana secured a return to football’s biggest stage, bouncing back from the disappointment of missing out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations — their first AFCON absence in over two decades.

Despite intense criticism earlier in the year, Otto Addo silenced his doubters by guiding the Black Stars to the top of Group I with 25 points, sealing qualification for next summer’s tournament in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Speaking to the Daily Graphic, Sibo praised the atmosphere within the camp, crediting Addo’s leadership for building unity and resilience among the players.

“One thing I’ve seen in this team is unity, and when a team is united and ready to fight for each other, it’s hard to beat,” Sibo said. “We are very united, and I feel we are on the right track.”

The 26-year-old, who made his senior debut against Mali, has started all three of Ghana’s recent matches, impressing in midfield as the team wrapped up their qualifying campaign in style.

Ghana will continue their World Cup preparations later this month with international friendlies against Japan and South Korea before discovering their group opponents on December 5.
