Asante Kotoko have received a significant boost ahead of their Ghana Premier League match against Karela United, with midfield maestro Baba Yahaya and striker Saaka Dauda returning to full training.
Both players had been sidelined with injuries, with Baba nursing a groin problem and Saaka recovering from an ankle issue.
“The club’s medical team confirmed the duo’s return after both were sidelined with injuries. Baba nursing a groin problem picked up during preseason, and Saaka recovering from an ankle issue,” the club announced in a statement.
Baba’s absence has been keenly felt this season, and his return could provide the creative spark the team needs in midfield. Dauda’s pace and goal-scoring threat will also be a welcome addition to the team’s attack.
The pair’s return will be a significant boost for coach Karim Zito’s side as they look to bounce back from their CAF Confederation Cup exit.
With both players training fully and “moving freely and firing on all cylinders,” Asante Kotoko will be confident of securing a positive result against Karela United at the Baba Yara Stadium.
