Accra Hearts of Oak Communications Director, Kwame Opare Addo, says the club is using their 2–2 draw against Bibiani GoldStars as motivation to reignite their Ghana Premier League campaign.
The Phobians were forced to share the spoils in a dramatic encounter at the Accra Sports Stadium over the weekend. Mawuli Wayo opened the scoring for Hearts just before halftime, but the defending champions turned the game on its head through Samuel Attah Kumi’s brace early in the second half.
Substitute George Paaku came off the bench to restore parity, ensuring both sides settled for a point.
The result means Hearts have now drawn four of their seven matches, with three wins placing them sixth on the league table with 13 points.
Speaking after the game, Opare Addo admitted the players were disappointed but insisted the team remains focused on improvement.
“Drawing with Bibiani Gold Stars was a stepping stone for us to bounce back even stronger, although the players are not happy with the outcome of the game,” he said.
Hearts of Oak now turn their attention to their next league fixture, where they travel to face newly promoted Basake Holy Stars.
The Phobians will be hoping to convert their growing consistency into maximum points as they look to climb higher on the table.
