Women’s football in West Africa is set for another thrilling chapter as Benin gets ready to host the 2025 WAFU B U20 Girls Cup from November 3–10, 2025.
The week-long showpiece will gather rising female talents from across the sub-region, giving young players a chance to compete at the highest youth level and gain vital exposure on the international stage.
Ghana, Nigeria, Niger, and Benin have confirmed participation so far, while other countries in the WAFU Zone B are expected to announce their squads soon.
For Ghana’s Black Princesses, the tournament offers a chance to defend the title they famously won two years ago when they defeated Nigeria on penalties in Kumasi.
That triumph cemented their place as one of Africa’s most consistent youth teams.
Officials from the West African Football Union say the competition continues to be a key part of the region’s plan to strengthen women’s football, develop grassroots talent, and prepare players for senior national team duties.
