The Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has announced that ticket sales for Ghana’s decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Comoros will close at 3:00 PM on Sunday.
Ampofo Ankrah said the move follows crowd management issues experienced during Ghana’s previous home game against Mali in September.
“Worth noting that on match day, tickets will not be sold after 3 pm. The match is at 7 pm, and the reason for this is that we don’t want the challenges we had the last time, where fans were crowding around the stadium looking to purchase tickets,” he told the media on Thursday.
He stressed that the directive would be strictly enforced to ensure smooth operations and fan safety.
The NSA believes the measure will enhance crowd control and improve the match-day experience for supporters at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Stars, who need just a point to qualify, will face Comoros in their final World Cup qualifying fixture. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
