Fiorentina are on the verge of completing a deal for Ghanaian right-back Tariq Lamptey, with club director Alessandro Ferrari confirming that the transfer will be sealed before the window shuts.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Ferrari assured fans Lamptey’s arrival from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion is only a matter of time, while dismissing speculation linking the Viola with Real Madrid’s Dani Ceballos.
Lamptey touched down in Italy over the weekend and has already undergone medical tests, paving the way for an official announcement in the coming days.
“There’s nothing in the rumours about Dani Ceballos. We are signing Tariq Lamptey from Brighton, and that’s the situation for now,” Ferrari said.
The two clubs are understood to have agreed on a fee in the region of €6 million, bringing Lamptey’s five-and-a-half-year spell with Brighton to a close.
The 24-year-old extended his contract with the Seagulls last season until 2026 but is now set for a fresh challenge in Serie A.
He has also earned a call-up to Ghana’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
