Watford fans experienced a rollercoaster at Vicarage Road as their side fought to a 2-2 draw with Southampton in the Championship with Ghanaian forward Kwadwo Baah grabbing the spotlight.
Southampton struck first through Cameron Archer in the 10th minute, leaving Watford trailing at the break. Manager Tom Cleverley’s decision to introduce Baah in the 57th minute changed the tone of the match.
Within eight minutes, the 22-year-old delivered. Latching onto a clever pass from Rocco Vata, Baah stayed composed and fired low into the bottom corner, sparking wild celebrations from the home support.
Southampton restored their lead through Ryan Manning’s curling free kick on 78 minutes, but Watford refused to be beaten. Just three minutes later, teenager Nestory Irankunda produced a stunning free kick to secure a share of the points.
The Hornets now prepare for their trip to Blackburn on September 13.
