New HNK Rijeka signing Daniel Adu-Adjei has revealed that the club’s ambition and determination to secure his signature convinced him to make the switch from Bournemouth.
The 20-year-old striker, who signed a four-year contract with the Croatian champions, expressed his excitement about the move and outlined his goals for the season.
“I felt that the club really wanted me and that is the main reason why I am here,” Adu-Adjei said.
“I can’t wait to meet the teammates and fans and play for the first team. I decided to join Rijeka because of the club’s ambition and everything the club has achieved,”
Looking ahead, the highly rated forward made clear that he wants to contribute to Rijeka’s success in both domestic and continental football.
“My wish this season is of course to be as well placed as possible in the championship and the Cup, and to achieve the best possible results in the group stage of European competitions.”
Adu-Adjei’s words reflect both his hunger to succeed and his desire to be part of Rijeka’s growth on the European stage, as he begins a new chapter in his career.
Adu-Adjei arrives in Croatia after a remarkable spell with Bournemouth’s U21s, where he scored an astonishing 25 goals in just 16 matches last season.
His prolific run in front of goal also earned him the club’s Academy Player of the Year award for 2024.
