After a disappointing campaign in the GHALCA Top Four, Asante Kotoko are determined to bounce back when they face Bibiani GoldStars in the Champion-of-Champions final on Sunday.

The Reds, winners of last season’s FA Cup, will travel to Duns Park on August 31 to battle the newly crowned league champions for early bragging rights in the domestic season.

Forward Albert Amoah admits Kotoko’s finishing let them down in recent matches but remains confident that the team can make amends.

“From our past games with them we’ve got a lot of chances so we just need to work on our goal scoring so that the chances that we get, we will just be able to score them,” Albert Amoah told Kotoko media.

“In a game there is lose, draw and a win and this time we have lost one and we are not going to repeat it, we are going to work hard and as I said, we will work on our finishing because we are creating chances so we are going to work on our finishing and score them.

Kotoko head into the contest with the confidence of having lifted three trophies last season, the FA Cup, President’s Cup, and the Toyota Cup, which they won in South Africa against Kaizer Chiefs.

The Champion-of-Champions fixture traditionally serves as the curtain-raiser to the domestic campaign.
