English-born Ghanaian striker Daniel Adu-Adjei has completed a permanent transfer from AFC Bournemouth to Croatian side HNK Rijeka in a deal worth around £1.2 million.
The 19-year-old, who came through Bournemouth’s academy, will undergo his medical on Monday before signing a long-term deal with the Croatian club.
Adu-Adjei was prolific at youth level, netting 25 goals in just 16 matches for Bournemouth’s Development Squad last season. But with first-team chances limited in the Premier League, he and his camp opted for a move abroad to secure regular senior football.
Rijeka, a consistent force in Croatian football and regular participants in European competitions, provides the teenager with the perfect platform to grow.
For Adu-Adjei, the switch represents more than just a change of club – it’s a career-defining step. The move not only opens doors to top-level football but also strengthens his case as one of Ghana’s most exciting young attacking prospects.
