Hearts of Oak striker Hamza Issah is thrilled about their 2-0 win over Heart of Lions in the Gbese Mantse Cup, securing back-to-back victories in the annual fixture.
Frank Abora Duku’s close-range finish in the 39th minute and Issah’s swift counterattack goal sealed the win for Hearts.
Despite Heart of Lions’ spirited play in the second half, Hearts maintained their lead and lifted the trophy.
Issah expressed his excitement, saying, “I feel very excited, I’m happy that we won the trophy because it has been a dream to win it.”
He then urged fans to rally behind the team in the upcoming GHALCA Top Four tournament.
“I am urging the supporters to come and rally behind the team in the GHALCA Top Four just like they did in the Gbese Mantse Cup,” Issah added.
The Top Four tournament, featuring Asante Kotoko, Gold Stars, and Heart of Lions, will serve as Hearts’ final preparation ahead of the new season. Coach Didi Dramani’s side will target a strong campaign, competing for the Ghana Premier League title.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on August 20, 2025.
