Jordan Ayew played a key role in Leicester City’s 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday in their Championship opener.
Although Jordan didn’t score in the game, his teammates Wout Faes and Jannik Vestergaard netted crucial goals.
Faes scored the winning header in the 87th minute, while Vestergaard equalized in the 51st minute after Nathaniel Chalobah’s early goal for Sheffield Wednesday.
The Owls had captain Barry Bannan sent off with 14 minutes left to play, making it harder for them to hold on for a draw.
Leicester dominated the game, showcasing their quality and depth.
Ayew, who had been impressive for Leicester throughout pre season, having previously scored a stunning goal directly from a corner kick in a pre-against OH Leuven, linked up play and provided some key passes for his side.
Ayew played 90 minutes, had seven shots, of which three were on target.
The Black Stars captain also created two big and completed two successful dribbles.
