Asante Kotoko face a significant setback with the injury of promising winger Peter Amidu Acquah, who will be out for six weeks due to an ankle injury.
Acquah’s absence will be felt in the team’s upcoming CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round match against Kwara United next month and likely the start of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign on September 12.
He joins teammate Elvis Kyei Baffour, who suffered a similar injury, leaving the team with a double blow ahead of crucial matches.
“We have been dealt a double blow ahead of the second phase of our pre-season preparations in Cape Coast, as wingers Peter Amidu Acquah and Elvis Kyei Baffour have both been ruled out for six weeks with ankle injuries,” the club announced, confirming medical assessments that suggest both players will miss the new season’s start.
