Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand believes that Noni Madueke and Mohammed Kudus, the latest signings for Arsenal and Tottenham, respectively, have similar potential.
“I don’t think potential-wise there’s a massive difference,” Ferdinand said on his podcaston YouTube, highlighting the age gap and differing experience levels between the two players.
Despite Madueke’s relatively limited Premier League exposure, Ferdinand is optimistic about his prospects.
“I think Madueke has got a high ceiling. I think he can go places. He’s a really good addition,” he said.
The two players will face intense scrutiny as they join their new clubs in the high-stakes North London rivalry. While Kudus is expected to play a key role for Tottenham under Thomas Frank, Madueke may need to fight for a starting spot in Mikel Arteta’s squad.
Both signings came with similar transfer fees, adding to the pressure on them to deliver.
Ferdinand’s comments suggest that both players are still developing, and their performances in the coming season will be crucial in defining their status in English football.
