Spokesperson for Berekum Chelsea, Isaac Obeng, has heaped praise on Asante Kotoko SC, calling them the best team in the Ghana Premier League ahead of the 2025/26 season opener.
Chelsea are set to host the Porcupine Warriors in their opening fixture, a clash Obeng believes will be a significant challenge for his side following their underwhelming 12th-place finish last season.
“After I saw it, I called Coach Samuel Boadu to discuss it, and he feels the same thing as we’re all feeling that the game will be a very difficult game,” he said in an interview on Luv FM.
“We’re looking at the recruitment, Kumasi Asante and I can say Asante Kotoko is the best team so far in Ghana.”
The Ghana Premier League officially kicks off on the weekend of September 12, with Berekum Chelsea hoping to start strong against one of the league’s most formidable opponents.
