Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has confirmed that the Accra Sports Stadium is currently the only approved venue for the Black Stars.
The Baba Yara Stadium, previously the team’s main home ground, was sanctioned by CAF and FIFA after being deemed unfit to host matches.
Speaking to 3Sports, Asante Twum revealed that Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches in September and October will take place in Accra.
“At the moment, the only approved venue for Black Stars matches is the Accra Sports Stadium. That will host Black Stars games in September and October,” he stated.
Ghana will welcome Mali and Comoros in those fixtures as they push for a return to the World Cup for a fifth time.
The Black Stars’ most recent outing at the Accra Sports Stadium was in March this year, when they defeated Chad in Matchday Five of the qualifiers.
After six matches, Ghana top Group I with 15 points, three ahead of second-placed Comoros.
