Ghana Football Association President, Kurt Okraku has optimistic about the future of Women’s Football following the nations’ bronze winning feat at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

The Queens edged South Africa in a dramatic penalty shootout to seal bronze. Which is their first medal at the tournament since 2016.

The team arrived in Ghana on Monday at dawn and were met by FA officials and hundreds of supporters.

GFA President Kurt praised the team’s resilience, calling it a sign of bigger things to come.

“The talent in them is unbelievable,” he said.

“With the right programs and consistent support, we’ll get to where we need to be.”

The performance is being hailed as a breakthrough moment in the rebuilding process under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, with calls for sustained investment in the women’s game.
