Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Kyere-Duah Dickson, has warned that Bibiani GoldStars could struggle in their debut CAF Champions League campaign if they’re forced to play home matches away from Dun’s Park.
Speaking during parliamentary proceedings on Monday, the MP reflected on Berekum Arsenal’s 2006 Confederation Cup experience, where the team’s relocation to the Sunyani Coronation Park negatively impacted performance and led to a future withdrawal from the competition.
“Mr. Speaker, my home team, Berekum Arsenal, had to move to Sunyani and that affected the team’s performance,” he said. “I’m confident Bibiani GoldStars won’t withdraw, but playing away from Dun’s Park could hurt their momentum.”
Dun’s Park has been deemed unfit under CAF Category A standards, leaving the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League champions in search of an approved alternative venue.
