Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo has expressed his delight at staying with the Cherries, citing the club as his “safe place” where he feels wanted.
After a period of uncertainty, Semenyo committed his future to Bournemouth until 2030 despite attracting interest from top clubs.
“If you go somewhere, you would want to feel wanted, and I didn’t feel that,” Semenyo told Sky Sports, hinting at his previous doubts about his future. “So this is my safe place, I felt wanted, and it is good to be back; It feels great.”
Bournemouth kick start the new Premier League season in August with a game against reigning Champions Liverpool, who were amongst the club’s interested in Semenyo.
Semenyo and Bournemouth are fine tuning in pre season ahead of their Premier League opener.
