Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak have pulled out of the Eko International Tournament in Nigeria, citing scheduling changes that clash with their pre-season plans.
Originally set for July 6–13, the tournament was pushed back to July 13–20, prompting the Phobians to withdraw.
The club says the new dates interfere with recovery and pre-season preparations following their President’s Cup defeat to rivals Asante Kotoko.
In a statement released on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, Hearts announced players will break from July 9 and return later this month for pre-season.
The club faces a packed August, featuring in the GHALCA Top 4, the Homowo Cup, and the Democracy Cup ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season starting in September.
