Former Hearts of Oak board member Frank Nelson believes the club needs a decisive player to transform matches as they gear up for the 2025/26 season.
His comments follow Hearts’ 2-1 defeat to rivals Asante Kotoko in the 2025 President’s Cup clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Reflecting on the game, Nelson stressed that the Phobians lacked a creative spark, which could have changed the outcome in their favour.
“I think Hearts of Oak need a game changer. We will need a player who can handle the ball for us, something we lacked against Kotoko,” he told Kessben FM.
“It would have been a different story if we had a game changer in our set-up against Kotoko,” he added.
Hearts of Oak finished fourth in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League which was a significant improvement after narrowly avoiding relegation the season before.
With former Black Stars assistant Didi Dramani now at the helm, expectations are high for a title push in the upcoming campaign.
