Ghana midfielder Daniel Kofi Kyereh has resumed full training with Bundesliga side SC Freiburg after nearly two years on the sidelines.
The 28-year-old trained with the first to mark his return from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury he sustained in February 2023.
Kyereh’s comeback is a major boost for both club and country, as he has not featured competitively since the setback halted his progress shortly after joining Freiburg from FC St. Pauli.
The former Ghana international last played at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and was part of Otto Addo’s squad before injury ruled him out of subsequent Black Stars games.
His return to training suggests he could be back in contention for selection soon.
Kyereh’s next goal will be to earn match fitness and stake a claim in Freiburg’s plans for the upcoming Bundesliga season.
