Berekum Chelsea striker Mezack Afriyie is close to joining Aduana FC, with a verbal agreement reportedly in place between both clubs and the player’s agency, Golden Gate Group.
Aduana are prepared to pay nearly 1 million cedis as compensation, while Afriyie is set to pocket over 200,000 cedis in sign-on fees.
“There’s a verbal agreement with Aduana for Afriyie after a series of meetings and negotiations,” a source at his agency told Footy-Africa. “It hasn’t been easy letting him leave because he has been an important figure at the club. But there are so many factors we had to consider, including the fee and the player’s priorities.”
Afriyie, 21, has played 86 matches for Berekum Chelsea, scoring 27 goals and assisting 11 times across three seasons. He also featured for the Black Galaxies during the 2022 CHAN qualifiers.
An official unveiling is expected in the coming days ahead of the new Ghana Premier League season.
