Rwandan giants APR FC have joined Denmark’s Randers FC and Egypt’s Ismaily SC in the race to sign red-hot Ghanaian forward Stephen Amankona from Berekum Chelsea.
APR tabled a €60,000 bid over the weekend, but it was quickly rejected. Berekum Chelsea have set an €87,000 price tag, though sources say APR are preparing a new €85,000 offer to open formal talks.
Amankona, the Ghana Premier League’s top scorer for two straight seasons, netted 18 goals in 29 games this campaign. He’s scored 37 goals in 58 appearances since returning to Chelsea and is under contract until January 2026.
Previously, he featured for Asante Kotoko and enjoyed a strong first spell with Chelsea from 2016 to 2020. Now valued at €175,000, the 25-year-old is reportedly eager to move abroad after dominating the local scene.
