The maiden edition of the West African Talent Hunt came to a close in Accra on Thursday, giving young players a shot at international football dreams.
Organised by One World Sports Management, the three-day event brought together 16 clubs; including Berekum Chelsea, Attram De Visser, Zilina Africa, and Great Somas as scouts and agents from Europe, including Slovenia’s FC Koper, assessed potential signings.
“We’re looking for complete players,” said FC Koper scout Roy Rudonja. “Even if something is missing, we can add that through training.”
Former Great Olympics coach Bismark Kobina Mensah urged the players to seize the moment: “When a scout comes from Europe, see it as a good opportunity. The best you can do is to show up.”
Selected talents will now progress to the next phase of the Programme, which could lead to trials and contracts abroad.
